Each year, thanks to donations from USAA Foundation, personal donations, and fundraising efforts, the Deer Valley Education Foundation awards Impact Grants to teachers to directly support special classroom or school projects and/or initiatives. We offer $500 - $2,000 grants to classrooms for programs not paid for by the school district or federal funding. We desire to supplement and expand on traditional learning experiences through innovative use of materials and activities.
Some examples of past grants to teachers included “out of the box” learning opportunities, students learning math through quilting, newspapers published in middle schools, and high school special needs students learning interviewing and life skills. Students even learned to prepare their own healthy meals and some build their own robots – all thanks to this program.
