Chris Costa Terry Scholarship
Chris Costa Terry, former school counselor at Deer Valley High School, loved working with students helping them excel in their high school career and attain graduation. She was known for her passion for student success as well as her zest for life and positive attitude. Her family wants to continue Mrs. Terry’s legacy of helping students at Deer Valley High School succeed through the Chris Costa Terry Scholarship Fund. This fund is a loving tribute meant to ensure that promising Deer Valley students can follow in her footsteps through her positive influence. We hope that this scholarship will help them earn a degree that will allow them to help others as she did through military service, counseling, psychology, or any combination of the three, all pursuits that made Mrs. Terry who she was.
(2) $5000 scholarships are being awarded for the Fall of 2022 to (2) Deer Valley High School students. This scholarship can only be used for educational expenses including tuition, books, housing, and meals. Proof of enrollment for college will be required if selected.
Applications will be considered based on the following areas:
- 500 word essay – How do you hope to help others through obtaining a college degree?
- Majoring in psychology or counseling and/or participating in ROTC in college preferred
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
