Ann E's Clothing Closets, which is now in three of our Title I schools, is a new addition to our program. The clothing closets provide free clothes, shoes, hygiene products, food, and more to our district's low-income and homeless students and families. The Closet and Pantry feature new and gently used clothing for children and adults, food items, toys, and games for children. The clothing closets are open to the community and quickly run out of stock. DVEF supplies the closets with new socks/underwear and plans to purchase shelving, clothing racks, and washers and dryers for each location.
DVEF focuses on the families of the Deer Valley Unified School District and desires to keep the children of these families in school and on track to graduate. With your assistance, we can support the students until their families are back on their feet.
Students we serve in the DVUSD Family Support Program face traumatic changes in their lives that can potentially prevent them from continuing or completing their education. With today’s inflation across the board, many families in our district are struggling.
The Deer Valley Unified School District is one of the largest school districts in Arizona, spanning 367 square miles and serving Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Anthem, New River, Cave Creek, and unincorporated areas of Maricopa County. The district has grown from its modest beginnings in 1934, when it had 1 school, to 41 campuses today and an online academy serving students throughout the country. DVUSD has 14 Title I schools.
